Machine-learning-based Automated Production Systems (MAPS) Laboratory

Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Dongguk University, Seoul, Korea

Smart factories can be defined as those wherein machines and products interact with each other, without human control, based on collaboration with the Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber-physical systems (CPS). In the context of ever-changing technological advances, smart factories face a variety of new optimization problems that determine the best allocation of resources to tasks over time in order to optimize one or more objectives in concert with big data. Our research interests are directed at optimizing, by means of a wide variety of methodologies, the performance and robustness of various systems such as production and logistics.
